Needles are the bain of my existence

I hate needles. I hate it when people palpate my veins. I hate having blood drawn. But even more, I hate being stuck multiple times without any success then being rescheduled to come back for more unsuccessful sticking on another day the following week.

This has been a very bad day.

Don't let them do that to you! If they stick you twice and can't get a vein, ask for another person. It's crazy for them to ask you to come back. Assholes and students stick more than once. (Unless you're a hard-core junkie and hide your tracks really well.)

danielle- i know...

bonita- you're cpr certified? nice. was that for work?

susan- actually, most people have a really hard time sticking me. i have really small, deep veins and if I'm not extremely hydrated there's not a soul in the world that can get blood from me unfortunately.

i went back monday, after drinking at least a gallon of water, winter jacket on, and did jumping jacks in the waiting room. the woman that usually sticks me got me on the first try. yay!

and man, i could never be a junkie. ick!
