I guess it is pretty weird, but I dig that a pastor is telling his congregation that sex isn't a bad, dirty thing that you should avoid.
i feel conflicted. on the one hand i totally agree with you, but on the other hand, and i think this is clint (or marriage) rubbing off on me: marriage doesn't work on a system of do this or don't do this every day and you won't get divorced. it's vaguely reminiscent of a book that really caused us a lot of pain in the beginning of our marriage, his needs her needs. it's just basically the law. there's no room for error, or in this case a "i'm not really in the mood". the selfish part of me really wants to go by the law, and to hold clint to it by saying, "have sex with me every day or this isn't going to work", but what would i really gain from that? i'd still have all this fucked up bullshit going on in my head that sex just can't touch and only time, patience, and grace can heal. i'm just learning more and more in my marriage that you can't rely on the law to fulfill all the things you need... learning to deal with the letdowns of having a relationship with another fallible human being is so important. i mean, what better way to learn grace, you know?
